Bill after wine tasting. Being the official DD, I have to drive the party people back to LA.
The craziest thing happened after our wine tasting. We were invited back to the winemaker's home in the Santa Rita Hills. We began the day as perfect strangers, and we left as friends. (I'm sure the large amount of wine consumed had nothing to do with it!) Here's the view from Peter Work's house overlooking his vineyard. Check out his website http://www.ampeloscellars.com/ Peter used to be an IT executive. He did a successful NASDAQ IPO back in the day. He was supposed to be at a meeting in the World Trade Center on 9/11 at 9:00 am, but it was cancelled the day before. On his trip back to LA, he knew he wanted more meaning in his life. He and his wife sold their house in LA and moved to Santa Barbara to make wine. It's an incredible story, and it's awesome to see someone pursue a dream with such passion. His wine is nothing short of perfection, too.
